Profile
I completed my undergraduate studies in Psychology at the University of Winnipeg, Canada receiving a first, my Masters of Psychology at the University of Kristianstad, Sweden for which I received distinction and my PhD in Psychology at the University of Southampton in England. My research focus has been on the effect of parenting stress on asylum seeking families in a post migration setting. As a developmental psychologist I am also interested in neuropsychiatric disorders in young people, risk and resilience and the effects of parenting stress and parental risk factors. I recently completed a five year RCT exploring the efficacy and cost effectiveness of a parenting app, STEPS, for parents of children waiting for an ADHD diagnosis. I bring over 20 years of experience of planning and implementing treatment for young people aged 10-16 with neuropsychiatric disorders and working with parents and children to implement tools and strategies to support parenting.

Research Interests:
Working in Dr Kasia Kostyrka-Allchorne’s research team, I am currently working on the Online risks and resilience in children's daily lives (ORChiD) which is a multi-method study of the mental health risks and benefits of digital technology use. It is a collaboration between Queen Mary University of London, King’s College London, University of Edinburgh and the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), exploring children’s online experiences and their relationship to mental health and development in late childhood.
