Staff Networks

QMUL has a number of staff-led networks providing voice, opportunity and connection for different groups of staff:

Diversity and Inclusion Calendar

QMUL each year creates a Diversity and Inclusion Calendar to mark and celebrate a number of equality, diversity and inclusion events throughout the year. Paper copies of this calendar are usually available at EDI-related events within SBBS and S&E.

Parents and Carers

  • SBBS Parental Leave Policy [DOC 21KB]: We have put together basic guidance for the kind of support available to staff in SBBS during parental leave.
  • Family Friendly Policies at QMUL: This website outlines QMUL polices for parental leave and provides guidance for staff undergoing fertility treatment.
  • Breastfeeding and milk expressing policy: QMUL has bookable rooms on campus for nursing staff and students.
  • Carers Career Development Fund (CCDF): The CCDF aims to help parents/guardians and carers with the additional care costs incurred as a result of attending conferences or other important development and networking events.

Wellbeing

  • Wellbeing Support for Staff at QMUL: Find out more about the Wellbeing Support for Staff at QMUL
  • Employee Assistance Programme at QMUL: QMUL offers staff access to an Employee Assistance Programme. This is a free, confidential service that provides a wide range of support for staff around helping balance work, family and personal life, including counselling.
  • Mental Health First Aiders: If you feel you need support in seeking help, QMUL has trained Mental Health Aiders to actively listen without judgment and signpost to appropriate services where necessary. This website includes find a list of Mental Health First Aiders in SBBS.
