Project title: Unraveling the mechanisms of NF-kB suppression by N4BP1 in molecular detail.
Summary: The protein N4BP1 has been recently identified as a negative regulator of cytokine production which exerts its function by binding and interfering with the ubiquitylation machinery of the NF-kB signalling pathway. The molecular details of these processes have not been elucidated. Using structural and biochemical techniques I will determine the ubiquitin binding properties of N4BP1 and shed light on its inhibitory potential.
