School of Business and Management academics recognised at Education Excellence Awards 2026
Colleagues from the School of Business and Management at Queen Mary University of London have been recognised at the Students’ Union Education Excellence Awards 2026, which celebrate the contribution of staff to the student learning experience.

Dr Ting Huang received Teacher of the Year from a single nomination. Since joining Queen Mary in 2024, she has taken an innovative approach to teaching, redesigning her modules to enhance student learning and engagement. Reflecting on the award, Dr Huang highlighted the value of student feedback in shaping her teaching and noted the importance of the Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice, delivered by Queen Mary Academy, in supporting her development as an educator. She also acknowledged the contribution of colleagues and her teaching team in creating a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
Dr Zhe Li, Senior Lecturer in Accounting and Co-Programme Director for BSc Accounting and Finance, received two awards: Academic Advice Champion of the Year and Innovative Teaching Champion. He was also shortlisted for PGR Supervisor of the Year. His recognition reflects a sustained commitment to delivering an engaging, research-informed and supportive learning environment across undergraduate, MSc and doctoral programmes.
Dr Chandres Tejura received three awards: Teacher of the Year, Innovative Teaching Champion and Academic Advising Champion, alongside a fourth nomination. His work in creating and supporting student initiatives, including the Business Society Queen Mary (BSQM), has helped foster a strong sense of community and engagement within the School.
The awards are based on student nominations and highlight the importance of partnership between students and staff in shaping education at Queen Mary. The School also recognises the contribution of professional services colleagues who support teaching and learning across all programmes.
We congratulate all colleagues recognised this year and thank our students for their continued engagement and feedback.
