Tell us about yourself
My name is Lena Krings, and I joined the Queen Mary University of London Fashion Law LLM programme in September 2025. I have an academic background in Intellectual Property and Competition Law. Originally based in Germany, I decided to move to London to gain a more international perspective. In particular, I wanted to further develop and apply my knowledge of Intellectual Property law within the fashion industry, a field that has always fascinated me.
Why did you decide to get involved with the CCLS Fashion Law Alumni Chapter?
The idea of establishing a Fashion Law Alumni Chapter was introduced to me by our wonderful Fashion Law LLM Programme Director, Professor Johanna Gibson, and I immediately knew that I wanted to be part of this opportunity.
During my time at Queen Mary University of London, I especially valued how many alumni return to share their personal journeys through panels and events. I found these insights extremely helpful for planning my own future. This motivated me to get involved, hoping that my own experience might one day support others with similar goals.
How do you hope the Chapter will benefit alumni who join?
I hope the Chapter will provide a space for open discussions and meaningful exchange among alumni. It should also create valuable opportunities to build connections, expand professional networks, and stay engaged with developments in the fashion law field.
