BIG Green Canal Clean
When: Friday, February 27, 2026, 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Where: Canal Side (near resi-life reception), Mile End
Step away from your desk, get some fresh air, and make a visible difference at the Big Green Canal Clean.
As part of Climate Action Week 2026, this hands-on community event invites students and staff to come together to care for our local canalside environment and protect urban wildlife.
Working alongside colleagues and fellow students, you’ll help remove litter, manage vegetation, and restore the natural beauty of the canal — a vital green and blue space on and around campus. This is a practical, social way to take climate action, offering a chance to connect with others while contributing directly to a healthier local ecosystem.
No experience is needed, and all equipment will be provided. Just bring comfortable clothing, a willingness to get involved, and ready for teamwork.
What you will gain:
Participants will gain the satisfaction of making a tangible environmental impact, alongside fresh air, movement, and connection with others. You’ll leave knowing you’ve contributed to protecting local biodiversity, improving shared spaces, and supporting practical, community-led climate action.
